Birthday Boy!

It’s been a little while! Starting a blog before the holiday season was a little bit of a mistake, in hindsight. We’ve been navigating Omicron and family gatherings, as well as Mylo’s first birthday! We celebrated on his actual birthday, of course, with just our immediate families together for a brunch/lunch. We’ll be celebrating again this Saturday!

Planning a party while trying to keep numbers in mind was a bit hectic. My own family is huge, so naturally we were never going to be able to invite everyone to an indoor gathering no matter where we had it. Ernie’s in the position of being the youngest on one side (so everyone else has kids) and the oldest on the other (so cousins naturally have to be invited). What originally went from a planned gathering of just our friends turned into a bit of a nightmarish planning fiasco—I still have to order more food from the caterer—but it’s almost over now!

I’ll share in another few posts some of the fun DIY things I did for the party. With all of the people, I just hope we have enough room for the decorations!
